Craigslist Fakers & Flakers

When Selling An Item, Expect To Get Some Low Ballers Or People Whom Don't Even Intend To Buy Your Product At Any Price.  I've Even Had Some People Say They Would Meet Me, Only To Never Show Up Or Even Let Me Know That They Had Other Plans In Mind.  Although These Things Can Be Rather Upsetting, Being The Seller Gives You Some Great Advantages.  Meet Close To Your Place Of Residence To Ensure That You Aren't Going Completely Out Of Your Way If You Do Get Snubbed.  A Local Shop Like Starbucks Or A Grocery Store Work Great.  Just To Make Sure A Buyer Is Serious, I Like To Discuss The Potential Transaction On The Telephone.  By Speaking To Them, You Can Weed Out Anyone Whom Has Flakery On Their Brain, But This Isn't A Fail Proof System.  It Is Always A Plus If You Can Bring A Friend Or Family Member For An Added Sense Of Assurance.

Side Note:  If You Have The Price Clearly Listed In The Ad & The Buyer Still Asks You For The Price, I Would Stay Clear Or At The Very Least, Be Sure To Take Some Extra Precautionary Measures.

Selling/Buying A Car On Craigslist

Buying Or Selling A Car?
Potentially Useful Information...

When I'm Browsing For Something To Buy, I'd Like To Know All Of The Information About That Product.  Buying A Car Is No Different.  You Should Always Include The Most Information That You Can Think Of, But In Case You Aren't That Great With Automobiles, This May Just Help You Out.

You Should, At The Very Least, Know What Car Manufacturer Assembled Your Vehicle, A Price, Current Mileage & List Any Problems That You Are Aware Of.

When I Am Looking For A Car To Buy, Here Are The Things I Would Like To See In An Ad.

Make & Model
Price
Mileage
Tire Brand & Wear
When The Tags Expire
Recent Work Done
Quirks Or Problems
Any Extra Parts Or Useful Information
Sellers Contact Info With Time To Call (I Like Phone Conversations)

Most Cosmetic Problems Can Be Documented By Taking In-Focus Photographs & Capturing All Angles Of The Vessel.  I Find That Phones Have Sufficient Cameras Built In & You Can Also Get A Craigslist App For Maximum Convenience & Posting Capabilities.  Make Sure You Represent Your Wheels With Honor & Dignity, Give Er A Bath & Keep Er Clean For Anyone Whom Wishes To See It.

If You Are Considering Letting Someone Drive The Vehicle, Take Into Account That Insurance Will Not Cover These Costs, Unless Otherwise Arranged Beforehand.

When Buying A Car:  Always Keep The Cost Of The Vehicle & Any Fees Or Repairs You May Have To Perform.  It Would Be Illogical To Buy A Car That Is Expensive To Repair From The Git-Go, Especially If You Aren't Mechanically Inclined

Other Useful Information:Know The Difference Between Economy Replacement Parts & Genuine OE Specified Replacements!

I Usually Give My Name & Phone Number With An Alpha Digit To Throw Off Any Bots (Example: 97I-2O4-9963 - I Replaced The One With The Letter "I" & Zero With The Letter "O")

PS. Print Out A Bill Of Sale From Your States DMV Website With The Obvious Anticipation Of A Sale.  This Way It Will Be Easier To Document All The Crucial Information You Need When Buying Or Selling A Car/Truck.

Craigslist Access - Beginner

Craigslist Access
Do You Use A Computer Or Your Phone When Logged Onto Craigslist.com ?

I Use Both!  I Find It Handy To Make An Ad With My Cellular Phone, Take Photos Of The Item & Enter Basic Information About The Ad.  I Post It.  I Then Connect To Craig's List With My Mac Book Pro So That I Can Structure Out A Fine Looking Ad.  If You Don't Have Easy Access To A Computer, I Find That Using Just A Smart Phone Works Pretty Well.

Craigslist Tip Of The Day (Oct 9 2015)

Craigslist Tip Of The Day
Friday, October 9 2015

Search For The Item You Are Selling On Craigslist.com & See How Many & In What Condition They Are In.  I Try To Beat Their Price, Especially If I Am Still Making Money.  If You Just Want To Get Rid Of Your Item, Set The Price Well Below What Is Available At That Time.

Craigslist Tip Of The Day (Oct. 8 2015)

Problems With Getting Bites Or Selling Your Item?

If You Find That Your Ad Isn't Selling,  Adjust The Information & Presentation Of Your Item Or Lower The Price By Small Increments Every Other Day.  I Find That After Adjusting The Ad, I Sell The Item Within The Next Day Or So.

An In-Depth View For Taking Photos - Craigslist - Beginners

Take Great Photographs That Aid In
The Sale Of Your Item On Craigslist

Your Hardware Is Important, But Lighting Is Everything.  Make Sure You Take Your Photo In A Well Lit Area, Natural Light Works Great, But Specific Lighting Rigs With Backdrops Will Give You An Edge.

I Use My Cell Phone To Take Photos Of The Things I Sell On Craigslist, But If You Don't Have The Luxury Or It Has Outdated Camera Installments, There Are Some Things To Consider;  A Simple Google Search Of Your Item Works To Find A Stock Image, But It Leaves The Items Actual Condition Gone With The Wind.  Sometimes I've Included A Stock Image Along With Pics I Captured Myself For Comparison<<This May Be Beneficial, But I Have No Real Evidence To Support Such A Claim.

How To Sell On Craigslist - Beginner

Sell Your Items On Craigslist
For Beginners

First & Foremost, Gather Information About Your Product (Category, Original Price, Your Items Condition & Find What They're Selling For Now In Both New & Used Condition)

Take Photos Of All Angles To Clearly Present The Items Condition.  If There Is Any Damage, Take A Photo That Represents The Severity In An Honest Manner.

I Usually Make A Tag Or Keyword List At The Bottom Of The Ad To Ensure That I Have All Things Relative To What I Am Selling.

Tip! Try To Meet Close To The Person Selling The Item, Or In This Case, Pick A Local Place That Is Close To You.  I Find It To Be More Logical This Way.

If You Are Unsure Or Someone Seems Shady, Bring A Friend & Don't Forget To Meet Local!
